Curriculum describes everything that happens in our Center that impacts on a child’s learning, development and well-being. Along with the use of Te WhaarikiThe New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum we incorporate aspects of the Reggio Emilia Approach into our curriculum.

Our center will follow the Principals, Strands and Goals of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as the founding document of Aotearoa New Zealand, and are committed to embracing our bi-cultural heritage.

• The Early Childhood curriculum will empower the child to learn and grow.
• The Early Childhood curriculum will reflect the holistic way children learn and grow.
• The wider world of the family and community is an integral part of the early childhood curriculum.
• Children will learn through responsive and reciprocal relations with people, places and things.

Our aim is for children to grow up as confident and competent learners and communicators, health in mind, body & spirit, and aware of their footprint on our physical environment. They will be secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society. Inspired by the work of Emmi Pikler our environment allows children to discover as much as possible on their own, with the comfort of knowing that their teachers are close by.
